Gamescom is On

It's all go at this time of year: E3, Develop, Comic-Con, Gamescom, PAX, TGS... but we're getting ahead of ourselves.

This week the focus is on Gamescom, which "turns the city centre of Cologne into an interactive playground", according to the website. Luckily we had the foresight to dress Rare reps Nick and Ben in high-tech Tron jumpsuits before sending them out to demonstrate Kinect Sports to an enraptured German and international audience. They'll be there for most of the week if you feel like dropping by Hall 8 to get a taste of the game (and see if we're lying about the jumpsuits).

A stack of brand new Kinect Sports screenshots has been released to coincide with this latest showing. Some of them are right there on the left, while the rest are floating around the internets and will soon be added to our Flash-based Sports section. Football and a selection of Track & Field events are all represented, while Bowling should be joining them in playable form on the show floor.

Also happening in Cologne this week is GDC Europe, which features Nick's joint talk with Andrew Oliver from Blitz on 'Kinecting With A New Audience'. That's tonight (Tuesday 17th), so if you're in the area and brandishing a GDC ticket, stick your head in and have a listen.
